GM recalls Chevy 4500HD/5500HD/6500HD trucks

Aug 19, 2023Aug 19, 2023

The hex flange lock nuts used in the suspension and steering joints were improperly heat-treated and may break.

Broken hex flange lock nuts may cause a loss of tension, leading to steering instability, and increasing the risk of a crash.

Dealers will replace the hex flange lock nuts -- as necessary -- free of charge.

Owner notification letters should go into the mail around January 9, 2023.

Owners may contact Chevrolet customer service at (800) 222-1020. GM's number for this recall is N222391080.
